Automated Viewporting for AutoCAD 14 and 2000. You will automatically be placed in MODEL SPACE. As prompted, draw a rectangle around the detail you wish to be placed in the viewport. In the command area, you will now be asked what scale you wish your plotted detail to be. Give your scale factor ie 25 for 1:25. Now you will automatically be placed in PAPER SPACE (sheet layout), and asked to position your newly created viewport - just pick a point. Your viewport will be placed and scaled correctly. A box will be left in MODEL SPACE around your detail, showing the extent of the viewport, together with an indication of the viewport scale in the bottom corner.
